about us
The Division of Thoracic Surgery is part of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Stanford School of Medicine located in the San Francisco Bay Area of northern California. We offer a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient service - both diagnostic and therapeutic - to patients with diseases of the lungs, airway, chest wall, mediastinum, esophagus, and diaphragm.

Our surgeons are among the most highly reputed in the San Francisco Bay Area and the country and offer the highest level of expertise available in all areas of thoracic surgery.

We have a particularly high level of experience with minimally invasive techniques, such as VATS (thoracoscopic) lobectomy, transcervical thymectomy, and VATS sympathectomy.
